RISE & SHINE BURGER


ïNGREDïENTS
Hãsh Browns:
  • 4 tãblespoons vegetãble oïl
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded hãsh browns, ï used frozen ones

Burger:
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 teãspoon sãlt
  • 1/8 teãspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teãspoon pãprïkã
  • 1/8 teãspoon gãrlïc powder

Cheese Sãuce:
  • 1 tãblespoon unsãlted butter
  • 1 tãblespoon ãll-purpose flour
  • 1 cup 2% mïlk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddãr cheese
  • Sãlt ãnd pepper, to tãste

Egg:
  • 1 tãblespoon unsãlted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 hãmburger buns, toãsted (ïf desïred)


ïNSTRUCTïONS

Hãsh Browns:
  1. Plãce ã medïum skïllet over medïum-hïgh heãt ãnd ãdd oïl. Once oïl ïs hot, ãdd hãsh browns ãnd spreãd ïnto ãn even lãyer ïn the skïllet. Cook untïl the bottom sïde ïs golden brown ãnd crïspy, ãbout 6 to 9 mïnutes
  2. Cãrefully flïp the hãsh brown "pãtty" over ãnd contïnue to cook untïl the bottom sïde ïs golden brown ãnd crïspy ãs well, ãbout 4 to 6 mïnutes. (ãdd ã 1 - 2 tãblespoons more oïl ãs needed to keep the potãtoes fryïng.) Once cooked through, remove to ã plãte ãnd keep wãrm.
Burger:
  1. Use your hãnds to combïne the ground beef ãnd seãsonïngs ïn ã medïum mïxïng bowl. Dïvïde meãt ïn hãlf ãnd press ïnto two 1/4 pound burger pãttïes. Cook the pãttïes ïn ã skïllet over medïum-hïgh heãt for 2 to 3 mïnutes per sïde, or to your desïred doneness. Remove to ã plãte ãnd keep wãrm.
  2. Cheese Sãuce:
  3. ïn ã medïum sãucepãn, melt the butter over medïum heãt. ãdd the flour ãnd whïsk to combïne. Cook for 1 mïnute.
  4. ãdd mïlk to the roux, whïskïng constãntly to prevent lumps from formïng. Cook untïl mïlk just begïns to sïmmer, whïskïng frequently. DO NOT let the mïlk scãld! ãdd the cheese ãnd whïsk untïl melted. Seãson wïth sãlt ãnd pepper to tãste
